Great things take time and Zaon Labs has been no exception. One of the super-powers that Zaon Labs has behind it is its' co-founders and our extensive background in AI, Cross-Cloud Enterprise Architecture, Software Startups and Knowledge Management. Another super-power that our platform has is the incredibly powerful and unique approach to simplifying complex tasks with AI.

Side Note: Zaon Labs is opening our Friends & Family Seed Round. Funding is largely reserved for sales & marketing since our technology platform is already built-out.  Now, we need to scale and adapt to customer demand. Reach out to me if you are interested in partnering in the Friends & Family Seed Round.

So, what makes our technology unique? This is the first of a series of posts in which I will dive deep into the problem space and our solutions. This first post will provide a high-level overview of the Zaon Enterprise Platform.

But first, what problem are we trying to solve?

Enterprises have been telling us that they are often using different AI solutions in different locations and are leaking how-to knowledge as they do not have a single source-of-truth for their AI usage, generated output, and reusable guided input. The promise of AI has not been as productive as hoped-for and the investments in it are not yielding the desired results.  For example, employees may be using a combination of Microsoft CoPilot, Google Gemini, and Chat GPT to improve their work product output.  Assistants and their instructions are not automatically synchronized between these disparate systems and there is either no assistant or guard rails used, or there may be multiple versions that are out of sync.  In any case, the enterprise is losing the reusability of growing and refining their AI-enabled workflows.

Zaon makes AI easy for businesses by turning scattered and disparate AI interactions into structured, reusable knowledge. With a powerful prompt library and knowledge article system, Zaon Enterprise Platform lets users save, refine, and reuse AI-generated insights, ensuring team consistency and efficiency. It seamlessly integrates with leading AI models like ChatGPT to automate tasks, streamline workflows, and provide quick access to stored prompts, responses, and best practices. Whether using industry-specific tools from the marketplace or building custom AI assistants, Zaon Enterprise Platform helps businesses capture, manage, and scale AI-driven knowledge—turning AI from a one-time tool into a lasting asset. In other words, the Zaon Enterprise Platform is unifying all AI usage in a company into a single source-of-truth, ensuring that no knowledge is lost, that each usage drives for refining and improving overall output, and that every usage complies with corporate policy and guardrails.

Zaon Enterprise Platform is the ultimate AI command center for organizations looking to scale AI responsibly while maintaining control, security, and operational clarity. The enterprise can host this platform directly, or Zaon can manage the hosting instead.

In this platform, we have designed the concept of Cards, Hands of Cards, and Playbooks. All entities that are used as input into AI solutions (inference engines, AI platforms, LLMs, and custom models) and all outputs from them are considered Cards.

Cards can be divided into two categories: Assets and Actions.  Actions and Assets in the Zaon Enterprise Platform are organized as integral components to empower users in leveraging AI capabilities effectively

Assets are content that can be used as input to and output from AI solutions. Zaon supports many types of assets, including Knowledgeable Articles, Knowledge Snippets, Unstructured Data such as Files, Documents, and Media (Images, Audio, and Video), Structured Data such as database records, JSON, APIs, and XML, Guardrails, Prompts, and Work Sessions.

The key function of assets is to track and manage derived knowledge through the combination of AI product output, human-verified knowledge, collaboration, ratings, and reviews. This allows for an ever-improving cache of captured knowledge in the enterprise's existing knowledge bases.

Assets used as inputs can come from users, AI assistants and agents, integrations with outside systems and line-of-business applications, and our marketplace, which includes thousands of free curated prompts, knowledge, integrations, and agentic workflows. More on those later.

Assets generated as the outputs of these systems can automatically be managed, analyzed, and further refined.  Refinement of the work product and knowledge improves the quality of an enterprise's assets.

Another group of Cards is called Actions.  Actions are operations that our inference engine can operate directly or hand-off to other AI platforms, models, or solutions while tracking the outputs of those actions in order to complete complex tasks easily.

Actions include Tasks, Agentic Workflows, Assistants, Agents (entities that oversee Assistants), Automations, Events, Guardrails, Integrations, Policies, Scheduled Rules, and Tools. Our marketplace of free curated Actions is also available to help quickly get setup and  running based on the enterprise’s industry and department needs.

So, the Zaon Enterprise Platform allows the creation, adoption, and usage of all of these Card types while operating as its own inference engine and AI platform. Simultaneously, this platform integrates with other AI platforms and inference engines that an enterprise might already be leveraging. These include Azure AI, Google AI, Open AI, Groq, Langchain and Amazon Bedrock.  They cover more than fifty different AI models. This is all done via integrations, automations, and plugins. Any custom models and workflows an enterprise has already built can be leveraged without major coding or refactoring.

So, what is a  Hand of Cards, then?

Hands of Cards are a collection of Cards (both Assets and Actions) that are about to be executed as a group by one or more AI platforms and models. An employee or AI agent might create a Hand of Cards that includes a specific prompt from the prompt base, plus a specific AI assistant that specializes in that kind of knowledge as well as some key example documents and enterprise knowledge. There might also be an Agentic AI Workflow dropped in.

Here is an example of what a Hand of Cards might look like. A Scheduled Event in the Zaon Enterprise Platform triggers at 7 am Monday and creates a Hand of Cards that includes:

  • Last week’s PNW Regional Sales Report as a file automatically retrieved from the enterprise file store for the PNW Sales Team.

  • The template of what the report should ideally look like, retrieved from the enterprise knowledge-base (or from Zaon’s own knowledge-base).

  • The AI Assistant that contains Instructions specific to the PNW Sales Team’s needs.

  • Structured Data retrieved from the database (or spreadsheet) containing the latest reported sales data.

  • The Prompt that needs to be submitted to the AI assistant in order to consume the sales data, the template, and the previous week’s report(s) to include trends.

This Hand of Cards can be selected and executed by the Zaon Enterprise Platform and a new PNW Regional Sales Report will be automatically generated and deposited in the file storage location where it’s expected. A link to that file can then be automatically emailed or messaged to the correct team or recipients.

This example can be further expanded to include an Agentic AI Workflow in which multiple tasks are completed in order (or asynchronously as needed) and the outputs from one Action can be submitted into the subsequent action.

So Hands of Cards are powerful, intuitive, reliable and follow an enterprise’s corporate policies and guardrails. The output can also be marked for Human-Verification and/or Agent-Verification utilizing a different AI model or assistant for review.

And what are Playbooks?

Playbooks are pre-constructed working session templates that contain all of the assets and actions needed to create a work-product in a repeatable way.  A user simply loads the Playbook as a new working session and is ready to go. Previous work sessions can also be opened, reviewed, or shared across team collaborations or the enterprise directory.

There are a lot of powerful features and tools within the Zaon Enterprise Platform, and all have an intuitive and easy-to-use design. With that, a few ways exist to interact with this platform. First, all capabilities are available via APIs and SDKs for embedding into existing solutions. Second, Zaon Enterprise Platform is our white-labeled user interface that can be branded to the enterprise and made directly available to its employees. Access to features and operations is fully configurable to a role-based matrix that integrates with the corporate directory. With the Zaon Enterprise Platform user interface, employees can easily drag a Playbook into their session and execute it to review the output.

Finally, an AI Agent can also be scheduled or triggered to do everything an employee can do with the platform without the risk of fragmentation or loss of knowledge.
